Selina & DeanUNIQUE WEDDING Nikko

Selina has British roots, and Dean has Middle Eastern heritage.
The couple wanted to visit Nikko, a place featured in the drama “SHOGUN,”
which held special memories for them.
They decided to spend their honeymoon and have their photo wedding in Nikko.

Although they were unfamiliar with wearing “shiromuku,” “irouchikake,” and “hakama,
” they were able to take beautiful photos in these traditional kimonos and dresses.
The hotel they stayed at, the “Nikko Kanaya Hotel,” added to the experience with its classical atmosphere,
making their three-day stay truly unforgettable.

The itinerary included exciting activities on the third day of their four-day trip.
They explored the stunning beauty of the Kinugawa Valley, enjoying a dynamic
and thrilling adventure, that added even more smiles to their trip.
Nikko, with its unique blend of tradition and nature,
offers a truly distinctive atmosphere that we highly recommend.

Compared to the United States, Nikko gathers various tourist attractions and World Heritage sites in one accessible area, allowing visitors to experience diverse cultural treasures in a compact space.
We are grateful to Selina and Dean for joining us as monitors, and we’re thrilled they were satisfied with their experience!

These are their impressions.
Please take a look!

How did you feel about choosing Unique Wedding Japan?

An interpreter followed us online, and since it was our first time, we were a little nervous, but
As we had more meetings, we developed a sense of trust and were looking forward to the day of the shoot.

What made you choose Nikko?

The image of the TV drama “SHOUGUN” was strong, and not only was it easy to get there from Narita and Haneda airports, but it was also easy to access from Asakusa, which we wanted to visit. Plus, we could take a stylish train.

What kind of outfit did you choose? Please tell us the points you were particular about and the reason you chose it.

I had done a lot of research on Japanese weddings in advance, and I wanted to wear the “shiromuku” and “irouchikake” that I had always dreamed of. I was so happy that my wish came true!

It was a very exciting time, as I could choose from many different types of “shiromuku”
(white wedding kimono) and beautiful “irouchikake” (colored uchikake) in lovely colors.

What did you think about the actual tour?

The photo wedding, the hotel stay, the canyoning activity, and the final canoeing on Lake Chuzenji were all fun and fulfilling because the staff told us about the options in advance.
It was a charm that I would not have known if I had visited Nikko without knowing anything.

Please tell us if you have any stories.

It was my birthday, so I was celebrated and sent pictures of the photo shoot to my family online. They were very happy, and I was able to show my gratitude to them.

Please give some advice to those who are considering the same plan.

Nikko is not that far from Asakusa in Tokyo, but it is on a plateau and is colder than Tokyo! I felt that it would be better to bring a few jackets (lol)

Please tell us your thoughts on the plan as a whole.

I’m glad I was able to experience such a wonderful experience that I can’t have in other countries! Thank you very much!
