The Charm of Izumo

Discover One of Japan’s Oldest and Most Sacred Shrines
A Journey into the Heart of Japan’s Mystery and Myth – Welcome to Izumo

Long revered as the “homeland of the gods,” Izumo is considered one of Japan’s most spiritual destinations.
At the center stands Izumo Taisha, the shrine where the eight million deities of Japan are said to gather once a year.
A celebrated power spot and the nation’s most iconic place for forging bonds and relationships, it draws visitors from across Japan and beyond.

But the sacred atmosphere is only the beginning.
Izumo offers breathtaking scenery and deep cultural heritage at every turn:
the striking white Hinomisaki Lighthouse standing against the indigo sea (a nationally designated Important Cultural Property),
the dramatic cliffs and myth-filled coastline of the geopark,
and Yunokawa Onsen, famed as one of Japan’s “Three Beautiful Skin Hot Springs.”

Along the Sea of Japan’s long coastline, you can enjoy fresh seafood in every season—
snow crab in winter, blackthroat seaperch (nodoguro) in spring, and many more local delicacies that showcase the flavors of the region.

A short journey beyond Izumo brings you even more:
luxurious hot springs, Matsuba crab, nostalgic townscapes, and quiet streets that reveal Japan’s timeless history.
The scenery feels new, yet somehow deeply familiar—
a gentle reminder of the Japan that has lived on through centuries.

Izumo is a rare destination where mythology, nature, gourmet cuisine, and healing come together in perfect harmony.
It is truly a place you should experience at least once in your lifetime.

And it’s closer than you think—
just 90 minutes from Haneda Airport and 50 minutes from Itami Airport.

So why not begin your own journey to discover the mysteries of Japan?
